        Verdict

        A wide open affair guts us under way but a chance is taken on Toppling he looked to be coming back to form when third behind Halcyon Magic last time out, his stable is beginning to hit top form and he will be hard to beat with conditions in his favour and it could be significant that stable jockey Paul Fizsimons has chosen him in preference to Threat who beat Toppling by a length and a quarter at Yarmouth last time. Mister Clinton is a course and distance winner who will love the ground and this hold up performer has not had much luck in running on his last couple of starts and he is fairly handicapped on his best form. Summerson won well at Goodwood last time out despite still running green and there is sure to be more to come from this copy individual with his stable still in top form. Mr Bountiful was a good second behind Lucefer when wearing french blinkers and he will not be far away if he can reproduce that effort. Sholto had no chance from his draw at Pontefract last time but he had previously been a good winner under similar conditions at Catterick. Nineacres was nibbled at in the market last time out but never got into the race however he is thrown in on his best form and could go well at a fair price.
