Verdict
This is not the strongest of contests and Laconia is given the nod over Law Maker and Red Leicester out of those with plenty of experience. While moves for Intavac Boy and Parliament Act will also be interesting. Not many of the rest have shown much to date but it is fair to say that Weir's Annie can be found a race in the fullness of time and it is too early to be giving up on her. However, Laconia sets fair standard on the best of her form and, as she has would be conceding plenty of weight all round if this were a handicap, she is given the benefit of the doubt to rid herself of the maiden tag today. Law maker is exposed as ordinary but is in fair enough form to give the selection plenty to think about.
