        Verdict

        The John Gosden-trained Bureaucrat has plenty more to offer and is selected in preference to Wasalat and Hidden Chance. The last named showed a good attitude when wining at Windsor last time out. She was buffeted about at several points in the race and did well to maintain her effort to the line. She does face a stiffer test here, though and has to pull something out of the fire from a 5lb higher mark. Wasalat enjoyed the step up to this trip at Folkestone last month and has the scope to find more when asked. However, her previous form was nothing out of the ordinary and she looks vulnerable to an improving type. Which is exactly what she faces in the shape of Bureaucrat, who will making only his fifth appearance. As is in keeping with Gosden's patient approach to training, the son of Machiavellian is not being rushed into a higher grade, but it will be surprising if he cannot cope with the challenges presented to him today.
