Verdict
We will shortlist Lysandra, Michaels Pride and Wagtail and side with Lysandra. Tcherina has yet to win off this high a mark and Lysandra won her maiden here but eventually went off the boil last year. Only two pounds above a winning mark, though, she might be the type that goes better fresh so cannot be ruled out of things today. Captain Margaret has improved on the all-weather of late but needs to keep that coming on Turf, while Michaels Pride was kept busy and won five times last summer and, even though her form then tailed off, she cannot be ruled out of a good run. Solva has scope for improvement this season, particularly over today's longer trip, and Wagtail looked a filly of very good promise when winning on her all-weather debut and, even though the form looks modest, she should keep on improving. Finally, My Lovely Lady has two-and-a-half lengths to find with Solva based on mile course form from last season but, with fitness on her side today, she could yet go well. Once again, though, the choice is Lysandra.
