In depth

Verdict

The only time FUNNY STORY (NAP) has struggled was when well beaten in listed company. She landed her two other juvenile starts in comfortable fashion and made a promising reappearance when fourth in a good-quality Class 2 handicap at Newmarket last month. She does have to concede weight all round but there's every reason to expect a competitive effort. Heroism is hard to assess as he made a winning debut of some note before being plunged straight into the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes when last of seven. This is a good marker for him dropped back into a Class 4 handicap for his comeback run. He's a live danger. Secret Guest and Spirit Of Applause arrive on the back of victories but both have been raised 7lb and may find this a bridge too far. Installation has each-way claims.
