Verdict

Espresso Freddo was due to drop 1lb before an impressive victory at Bath last week for which he's penalised 5lb. He won't mind the ground and looks well enough treated to get involved. But SALT WHISTLE BAY (NAP) has only run here once, landing a similar handicap two years ago from a higher mark. He's been running in better company and, though potential punters will need to ignore his latest effort, he's handed the vote. Inner Circle landed a Beverley claimer and is better than he showed on his first start for new connections at Wolverhampton but Quarry Beach has never won and has been beaten from this sort of mark in her last six starts. Thorn couldn't get close enough to mount a challenge in a lower-grade handicap at Epsom while Vive La Difference probably needs a further drop in the ratings.
