In depth

Verdict

Danube River returned to winning ways at Bath last week. An apprentice cancels out a chunk of her 6lb penalty and she's expected to make another bold bid. Follow The Flag is another recent winner carrying a penalty and he won't be far away but the lightly-raced SPRING TONIC makes more appeal. He'll appreciate this longer trip after the obligatory three runs in maidens and could prove well handicapped. Dazzling Valentine got the better of the disappointing Almuftarris at Brighton last month but recent Folkestone runner-up Titus Bolt is preferred.
