In depth

Verdict

A really tough one to call as many hold solid claims on the best of their efforts. However, Astyanax fits the typical profile of a Sir Mark Prescott horse at this time of year and, as such no chances are taken and with the four-year-old today. There are numerous dangers though and Head To Kerry, Glory Quest and Mexican Pete are all worth noting in the betting, while Individual Talents is a filly that is worth a try at this trip and should be considered if supported. In contrast to Sahaat, who has failed to live up to his French form since he joined Jamie Osborne and he is one to be wary of for the time being. Therefore, Astyanax, who relished this trip when he was last see out, looks to be a more reliable option today. The son of Hector Protector also did well to finish within four lengths of Misternando at Chepstow last July and, as this is the time of year his stable just start to get going, Astyanax can get the ball rolling towards the winner's enclosure if all goes well today.
