In depth
Verdict
Palo Verde made it third time lucky last time and can follow up on his handicap debut, Indian Song and Soviet Palace are also expected to run well. The selection put in two solid placed efforts before that Thirsk success and has been handicapped accordingly. However this son of Green Desert is open to plenty of improvement and could be capable of living up to his current mark. Soviet Palace ran no sort of race on his handicap debut at Goodwood last time. His previous maiden win was gained in great style and he shouldn't be far away if running up to that form. Indian Song looks the best of the lightweights having shown plenty of ability in five furlong maidens. The extra distance should suit and she could go close at a decent price. It is a wide open affair with Fort Worth and Merry Moon also in with a squeak, however Palo Verde looks the type to progress further and he gets the verdict.
