Verdict
A large field goes to post for this maiden but on closer inspection not many can be given a serious chance of winning and the principals look to be Salinja, Celtic Shadow and Hallucinate and the confident vote is given to Salinja. The selection was a good second behind Pevensey in what looked a better race than this last season and if he is fit after a break he will be hard to beat under conditions that suit. Celtic Shadow rates the main danger as he is a well bred Celtic Swing colt out of 1m2f winner Shabby Chic and should be noted in the market. Hallucinate is another worthy of respect on his best form of last season but he looked to have regressed on his first run this season so he can not be put forward with any confidence. Of the remainder Lilac Mist and Wansdyke Lass are others from top yards that should be noted in the market but both are bred to be seen to better effect over a longer trip and for the winner we return to Salinja.
