Verdict

This looks set to go the way of the first-time visored Hunting Lodge, who has been given plenty of time since making a winning debut at the Craven meeting. While the form of that race has looked nothing special, despite both the runner-up and third winning since, there is no doubt he is open to plenty of improvement at this trip. The main danger should come from Billy Allen, who has been running reasonably well at a lower level. Out of a mare that won over this trip, he should be in his element in this stamina test. Vantage should improve for the step up in trip, but he does need to improve on what he has shown to date if he is to trouble the principals, while Fist Acorn looks hopelessly outclassed. So with Hunting Lodge open to any amount of improvement, he should have no trouble disposing of inferior rivals.
