Verdict
Three-year-old handicaps can be tricky puzzles at this stage of the campaign as it's hard to gauge potential improvement from two to three. However, COBWEB CATCHER seemed to confirm he's going the right way when runner-up in a similar contest at Windsor earlier this month and should deliver another decent account off his unchanged mark. Five furlongs on quick ground look his conditions. Both Arishka and Giacomo Casanova have already obliged on the all-weather this year and are preferred in that order, whilst Hanakotoba has also been kept busy on artificial surfaces and will have no fitness concerns. The top three in the weights all make seasonal reappearances, of which Murqaab may be most interesting after undergoing a gelding operation over the winter.
