    Verdict

A trappy opener and Millville is selected ahead of Inchnadamph and Odiham. Michael Jarvis' charge has form on a softer surface earlier in his career and while others are making their first trip to the racecourse this term, he should have few fitness worries with four runs already this term under his belt. Rated well in excess of 100 on the artifical surfaces, he could be well treated on a return to turf. Inchnadamph is an admirable old stager. He stays further than this but hasn't made a habit of posting early season successes. Odiham is quirky. That said, he acts on the surface and could run well at big odds if he is in the mood to do so. Sahrati was well beaten on the Southwell fibresand off a potentially useful mark. He has won on soft so can be forgiven that very public misfire. Man Of Gwent steps up in trip having campauigned over shorter in the past. Pay D'Arnac has plenty of experience with give underfoot when trained in France. Polish Red is watched in the market as he has always been well thought of by George Margarson. Talenti started life with Aidan O'Brien but is now plying his trade as a maiden hurdler with Emma Lavelle. Lets Roll needs plenty of give to be at his best but this isn't normally his time of year and he is opposed. Millville has an obvious chance if transferring his all-weather form to turf and he is selected accordingly.
