In depth

Verdict

Anmaat took another step forward with an impressive victory in a Group 3 at Haydock. He’ll go close if handling the testing going and can confirm latest running with Grocer Jack but the latter’s stablemate ADDEYBB may edge this back on his preferred ground. The Haggas stalwart beat Verry Elleegant, who runs earlier on the card, in a South African Group 1 contest last year and his yard won this last season. West Wind Blows won a Group 3 race over track and trip last month but Botanik continued his good progress with a Group 2 success at Deauville and Andre Fabre’s charge is preferred to stable companion Junko and the Rouget duo Wally and Lassaut.
