In depth

Verdict

The Revenant was attempting to win this for the third time last year when just failing to catch the winner. He has his ground again and looks sure to go close but EREVANN may prove too good. The latter lost his unbeaten record in the Group 1 Jacques Le Marois but was beaten less than a length by the top-class Inspiral on that occasion and there should be more to come. Bill Knight’s Checkandchallenge beat Facteur Cheval and Mister Saint Paul when landing a Group 3 at Deauville while Triple Time won in the same grade at Haydock on his belated return to action. Glounthaune had the measure of Raadobarg when runner-up in Group 2 company at Leopardstown and will be sharper for this.
