Verdict
Royal Attraction can beat the other penalised runner Jim The Gent, with Champagne Only the other main danger in the finale. The two winners in this line-up were both successful at Market Rasen last time, with Royal Attraction the more impressive. Mark Brisbourne's charge defied a seventh-month absence to trounce previous Hexham winner Lindseyfield Lodge last week, galloping on strongly at the finish, and as that was a big improvement on his two previous attempts, he should be supported to follow up. Jim The Gent made a winning debut at the end of June, but the race developed into a sprint off a slow pace, and the opposition was not strong. Champagne Only shaped well enough when second here last time and will come on for the run, while the market should tell if anything else is fancied. On latest evidence though, it is Royal Attraction that is very much the one to beat.
