In depth

Verdict

Schinken Otto is at the top of his game at present, and can defy the handicapper to beat Call Me Edward, Copplestone and Mister Magnum. Since teaming up with Graham Lee, Schinken Otto has been very profitable to follow, and once again defied a rise in the weights when scoring at Uttoxeter a fortnight ago. That win was achieved off a rating of 101, and he now lines up off 110, but he has looked so comfortable, making most of the running, that Malcolm Jefferson's charge has to be supported until beaten. Fellow five-year-old Call Me Edward made a successful handicap chase bow at Uttoxeter just over three weeks ago, but does not have as much experience as the selection. Neither does Copplestone, although there was nothing wrong with his winning effort at Cartmel last time. Mister Magnum was well held by Arresting on his last visit here and is still a maiden, so we have to stay loyal to Schinken Otto.
