Verdict
Nigel Twiston-Davies loves travelling up to Perth and has a strike rate that most northern trainers would be proud of at the Scottish venue. Bobby Dazzler, his challenger here, looks to be an improving individual and confirmed promise when second to Oliver Sherwood's impressive novice hurdler Eric's Charm at Kempton last month at big odds. Although beaten a long way and forced to make a few clumsy mistakes, Bobby Dazzler had some tidy horses behind him that day including Widemouth Bay, and does not have the same calibre of horses to contend with today. Smithlyn, You're a Gassman and possibly Kristineau will be his main market rivals. The Kim Bailey-trained Smithlyn improved last time for the step up in trip when behind easy Huntingdon winner Fair Question and again can improve on that form. You're a Gassman was the winner of an ordinary looking bumper last spring but has strengthened up with experience and was only touched off by a head in an amateur riders contest at Sedgefield last month. He would have a good chance although the ground is a worry as he has shown all his best form on good or faster. Kristineau will relish conditions and would have been closer than third at Carlisle last time but for walking through the fourth last and then hanging in the straight. He could be the one to chase Bobby Dazzler home today.
