In depth
Verdict
Havenstone is selected ahead of stablemate Ballinvella Queen and Irish raider Canadian Sunset. Evan Williams sets a poser here by saddling two fancied contenders, but our preference is for Havenstone who has a lot more experience and who plugged on gamely when beaten by Sashenka at Uttoxeter last month. The son of Roselier will relish the step up in trip, and on ground that suits, should prove hard to beat under regular pilot Paul Moloney. Ballinvella Queen had winning form between-the-flags, and has shaped with a degree of promise under rules. In receipt of weight from all, she is worth a mention at least. Anything that Jimmy Lambe sends over from Ireland has to be respected, and so Canadian Sunset must not be left out of calculations either. She was second here in May, and is another that should appreciate the longer journey. Beau Saddler is going the right way as well, but all in all, we reckon that Havenstone is the percentage call.
