Verdict

Three miles on decent ground seems ideal for bottom-weight TWELVE PACES and he gets the nod accordingly. Peter Monteith's gelding is 7lbs higher than when successful here last month but there is more to come and he still looks well-treated on his old form. The quirky course and distance winner Valerius looks the pick of Gordon Elliott's pair, whilst Nudge And Nurdle brings solid recent handicap form to the line-up but he might be vulnerable again. Echo Point looks nicely-handicapped for this return to fenceing despite hte trip looking a tad far, whilst Richard Johnson looks a good jockey booking for Ursis who jumps a fence for the first time since November 2007. Catch The Perk is back down to a fair mark but the re-application of cheek-pieces isnt necessarily a plus, whilst Soubriquet is yet to prove himself over this far.
