    Verdict

    The remarkable Amalfi Doug won this last year and is seeking an eighth course victory but he’s had a rear view of Get Out The Gate on the two occasions they’ve met this year. John McConnell saddles the top two in the weights but ROI DE DUBAI (NAP) is much preferred to Go Another One. A winner at Wexford earlier, the former beat the consistent Pink Eyed Pedro by 18 lengths last time at Cartmel with the runner-up running well at Warwick on Monday. Pym appears to have lost his way a little but did win a Listed race when trained Nicky Henderson.

    Get Out The Gate (IRE) 13-8 (11-5) Led, not fluent 3 out, soon headed, about 10 lengths behind before final bend, winner soon began to idle badly and allowed to close, challenged from 150 yards out, held close home, 2nd of 4, nk behind Dressedforsuccess (10-7) at Cartmel 3m 1f hcp (2) gd in Aug.

    Amalfi Doug (FR) 6-5fav (11-11) Made all, shaken up before 2 out, hit last, stayed on gamely run-in, unchallenged, won at Perth 3m hcp (3) gd in Sep beating Dead Right (11-12) by nk, 4 ran.
