Verdict

Fourth Of July had Vengeur De Guye well behind when scoring at Kelso in March and the latter was only third earlier behind ARDERA CROSS and Sword Of Fate at Ayr. William Young’s front-runner is massively better off with both of those rivals here and is much happier receiving weight from better horses rather than carrying welter burdens in lesser company. Schmidt, having a first run for Donald McCain, appears to have a lot to find with Sword Of Fate on Cartmel running while better going would have suited Fort De L'ocean and Wolfcatcher.
