In depth
Formwatch
Monicasman (IRE) Quite useful at one time but little form of late.
What A Wonder (IRE) Stays well and needs to be produced late; will have his supporters today and should be open to improvement.
Royal Barge Lightly raced and was off the track a long time prior to his two runs this season; difficult to fully gauge in the context of this race but certainly seems to have retained ability.
Hunting Slane Not without a chance if the ground dries out but needs to improve on recent efforts.
Brian James Dropped 9lbs from last run and that shows he's out of form; you'd be taking a chance that he'd return to his best today.
Young Steven Would have needed last run; winning pointer and chaser but yet to win a hurdle in 18 attempts.
Over The Burn Lightly raced but came good on most recent effort over an extended three miles on soft at Carlisle; that was not a strong event and more will be needed today.
Palace of Gold Has hinted at retaining ability, and his old form would put him in the shake-up here; trip and ground will not be a problem but he needs to find his old form.
Monte Cresta (IRE) Bits of form but difficult to get strong on her chances today.
Passing Danger (FR) Has suggested ability but has not run in well over a year so others are preferred today.
Steel Rigg (IRE) Mainly a pointer these days; has shown ability in that sphere but others are preferred today.
Phar Echo (IRE) Reverts to hurdling but that move is hardly likely to provide the solution to this race.
Megaera Very lightly raced and takes a big step up in trip, which could well suit him; has shown some promise but would need to improve on what's been shown so far.
Kingennie Winning hurdler but little of late to enthuse about.
Barton Bog (IRE) Fair efforts at this sort of level; good rider and has to be one to consider.
Frileux Royal (FR) Seems to like cross-country events but will not be getting those conditions today.
Cap It If You Can (IRE) Takes a step up in trip here but warrants some respect on basis of best efforts over last three years.
Lyphard's Fable (USA) Has won once in 39 starts, and that was a seller; others much preferred.
Supreme Soviet You can make a case for this course winner (over fences) but it will probably pay to look elsewhere.
Slasher Jack (IRE) Not the most reliable of performers and others preferred.
No Case To Answer (IRE) Best effort was most recent effort; would need to keep the progress coming.
King Bavard (IRE) Lightly raced and should improve for a step up in trip; would be no surprise to see him run well.
