Verdict

Abingworth has failed to build on an earlier third at Fontwell when finishing in front of Oscarsman and Gavroche D’allier. Royal Mer posted a better effort at Hereford on only his second start for David Pipe but BELGARUM also showed a big improvement when runner-up at Fontwell on his handicap debut. Clear of the rest on that occasion, Joe Tizzard’s charge gets the vote in this. Watchoutitscookie won at Wincanton last month while San Pedro De Senam placed on soft ground at Fontwell earlier in the week.
