In depth

Verdict

Roddy The Vet looks to have a great chance of completing a hat-trick here and is taken to do so at the main expense of Stocking Island and Coleraine. The selection is 1lb lower than when romping home by 25 lengths at Wincanton last time. Add to that a 14 length course and distance success prior to that and you can see why this judge thinks he will prove unstoppable here provided the ground doesn't get too quick. Stocking Island steps up in trip and it will be interesting to see if she can cope with that. Mark Grant is certainly going to have to emply different tactics on her to when she was last seen out at Wincanton, but we could see her running into a place. Of the tohers. Coleraine makes some appeal given that Supreme Leader's progeny often act on fast, as well as soft ground. Oliver Sherwood has been having winners, so a good effort seems likely, but with little else standing out we take Roddy The Vet as a confidence choice.
