Verdict

Will Of The People gets the vote here ahead of Kelrev, Lesdream and Glen Warrior. The lightly raced Will Of The People is now with Martin Pipe. He ran a blinder to be second at Leicester last time after a 666-day absence so, given normal improvement, is entitled to have his supporters. Kelrev is is very consistent and reverts to hurdling here after a number of decent efforts over fences. He's well rated on his hurdling form and, having won in that sphere in France, his chance cannot be dismissed. Glen Warrior beat Therealbandit from a mark of 99 over hurdles in April but is now 11lbs higher in the ratings and has been beaten from revised marks. It's Wallace is a course winner and is pretty well weighted on his winning form of 2000, but we prefer others. Lesdream is progressive and has won his last three races. He is now 25lbs higher in the ratings as a consequence but could still go well. Fabrezan has won his last two, including once over course and distance, for which he has been raised seven pounds. It was very testing that day, so similar conditions would suit him. He beat It's Wallace that day by five lengths and is now five pounds worse off. All three of Blue Streak's hurdling wins have come at two miles so, being unproven at this trip, leads us to look elsewhere for the winner. Audiostreetdotcom provides his connections with a lot of fun but he doesn't win that often, while Coral Island is better known as a chaser these days. Kattegat is actually seven pounds lower in the ratings than for his Leicester win in November 2001, but that was the last race in which he finished first. Overall, then, our vote goes to the Pipe-McCoy combination and Will Of The People.
