Verdict
Escompteur looks to have scared off most of the meaningful opposition and he should beat Castlemore and Five Colours today. A cheeky winner of a Bangor novice race, the front two were miles clear of the rest and a penalty should not stop him here. Castlemore may struggle to find races as a second season novice and he was backed as if defeat was out of the question last time out. Compensation awaits, but probably not here. Five Colours is stoutly bred and is dutifully watched in the market. An ex-pointer, he will not fail for stamina. Magot De Grugy looks one for the future while 102-rated Spiritual Dancer sets the benchmark for the race from an analytical perspective. Escompteur has plenty of improvement left if his Bangor performance is anything to go by and we will not oppose.
