Verdict

THE FLYING SOFA failed to land the odds at Wincanton recently when caught in the closing stages but gets another chance in this company. Gary Moore’s charge should have the measure of Mach One on these terms with the less-exposed Coal Stock likely to prove a bigger threat. The latter showed a big improvement at Stratford on his latest outing over hurdles while Claudio Monteverdi is the most interesting of the hurdling newcomers having placed in Listed company on the Flat in Ireland as a three-year-old.
