Verdict

TUANKO looks to have a great chance of winning over hurdles at the first time of asking, with Green Wadi and Tayarat perhaps the main dangers. The Alan King-trained selection was a soft ground Salisbury scorer over 10f when last seen out, and that is probably an ideal trip on the flat for translation to two miles over the sticks. The gelding handles fast ground well, is clearly in good heart and comes from a yard that has had its runners in top condition for a long time and Tuanko can score. Green Wadi will certainly get home here, having won over 1m 4f at Bath on fast ground last time. Gary Moore's charge has to be taken seriously on that basis, and he is rated higher than the selection on the flat, though perhaps this trip will be on the short side over the sticks. Tayarat was a fast ground Yarmouth winner over a mile last time and so has conditions to suit, but whether or not he will get home remains to be seen. Little else makes any appeal and we'll take Tuanko to win the opener.
