Verdict

Not a race that will take a lot of winning and this looks a good opportunity for Atahuelpa to open his account over hurdles at the main expense of Private Benjamin and Burnt Copper. The selection was much the best of these on the Flat and appeared most unlucky not to make a winning debut over hurdles at Stratford earlier in the month. The Hernando gelding was well clear of the field when a faller at the last and compensation awaits for this former useful Flat handicapper. Private Benjamin and Burnt Copper lack experience over timber and both have plenty to find with the selection on Flat form so this looks tailor made for Atahuelpa to land the spoils in the hands of Tony McCoy.
