Verdict

Flying Spirit should resume winning ways under Tony McCoy while Alva Glen is preferred to Cedar Rangers for the forecast position. Gary Moore's gelding made a winning debut over hurdles at Fontwell last month and was then far from disgraced next time at Hereford. The four-year-old looked unlucky when receiving a bump and unseating his rider on a return visit to Fontwell earlier in the week but faces a straight forward task against moderate rivals and is confidently expected to defy a 7lb penalty. Alva Glen has been disappointing of late but has strong place claims if reproducing the for of his Worcester third in July while Cedar Rangers is progressing along the right lines having shown some promise on his latest outing but this looks booked for Flying Spirit to record his second success over timber.
