Verdict
Meneef has the form in the book and looks more than capable of getting off the mark here; Tenny's Gold, Slavonic and Mrs Shilling should give him most to do. Marcus Tregoning's Kingmambo colt shaped with plenty of promise on his sole start , when fourth to the useful Secret Charm, a race in which he finished only a length and a half behind subsequent dual classic scorer Ouija Board. He was a little disappointing on his reappearance at Yarmouth but returned to form after a short break when a close second at Nottingham last time, and he should be good enough to land this. Slavonic was narrowly behind the selection in the Secret Charm race last year, when trained by John Gosden. He has not looked the easiest of rides this year, but certainly has ability and now makes his first start since joining Kevin Ryan. Tenny's Gold can be given claims on her third at Goodwood in June but Barry Hills' filly has been below that standard on her two subsequent starts. Mrs Shilling is officially rated 67 so has a few pounds to find with Meneef, but James Fanshawe's filly was keeping on nicely when second at Beverley last time and may improve over this slightly longer trip. Mark Johnston's Mtilly makes a belated racecourse debut and although on breeding she doesn't make a huge amount of appeal, the betting will give a better clue as to her merit. However, for the winner we return to Meneef.
