In depth
Verdict
Plenty of potential improvers but Penalty Kick has the scope to see off Secret History and Lord Of Dreams. Penalty Kick has had the tendency to race quite freely in his races but Kieren Fallon got the measure of him early doors last week and the partnership scooted up to victory over ten furlongs at Nottingham. Title rival Frankie Dettori attempts to net the winning prize today. Secret History has to be respected having made the long journey home from Middleham. Connections have always thought of him as a potential miler and if he can put behind him a modest effort at Doncaster, he has to come into the reckoning. Lord Of Dreams was well backed before floundering on the polytrack at Lingfield. He is still a maiden after four starts but this is the type of horse that David Arbuthnot thrives with and the market is duly watched. Just Do It is sure to have his supporters off a light weight while Come On Jonny is a well-bred sort who should improve for the step up in trip. Darryll Holland rides. The market will offer most clues but Penalty Kick looks to have plenty of positives in his favour today.
