In depth
Verdict
This Listed race for fillies may go to Nyramba, but Lochridge, Nataliya and Tychy are all capable enough and can pose a threat. This has the makings of a cracking contest, with plenty of others worth a mention, including Roger Charlton's Kind, who has been in terrific form this season, reeling off a four-timer. She deserves a crack at this better company, but faces her toughest task to date. Nyramba owes connections nothing, having collected the Watership Down Stud Sales Stakes at Ascot last season, and so nearly captured the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood until stablemate Phantom Wind came on the scene last time out. On that form she is the one to beat here, with Lochridge perhaps the one to give her most to do. Andrew Balding's filly ran right up to her best when touched off at Doncaster, and will always be a threat in this type of company. Nataliya looks best of the other three-year-olds but does not make as much appeal as Nyramba who can gain her first piece of black type.
