Verdict

RAINY NIGHT is more consistent than many and gets the nod accordingly. Reg Hollinshead's gelding likes a strongly-run six furlongs on a testing track and with his latest third to Darcey reading well he can go well for his inexperienced pilot. The front-runner Bel Cantor knows the track well, Young Gladiator stays well so a searching gallop would suit, whilst Lindoro's jockey has a fine name but the horse needs to step up on his Carlisle run but this better ground will help. Dickie Le Davoir tends to get behind but this track suits his style of racing, and along with the Kempton winner Tislaam he is hard to rule out. Angaric is holding his form well but Bryan Smart's gelding would prefer more rain. Klynch is more interesting than the well-handicapped Bid For Gold but both can be readily passed over.
