Verdict

Plenty of pace on and that should suit the confirmed hold-up horse DABBERS RIDGE. Ian McInnes' gelding ran well at Beverley last time out but he should relish the return to a mile today. He is only 2lbs higher than when successful here last month and he can win again. Daaweitza's best form has come on flatter tracks, and a bigger danger might be West End Lad for whom the return to this track and a mile trip is in his favour. Rain would suit Rosbay and he is in-form after a cracking Thirsk run, whilst Frontline Girl was well-backed when scoring at Newcastle and deserves her 6lb higher mark. Moheebb needs a market check as he edges down the weights. Similar comments apply to Steel Stockholder after an improved run at Thirsk, and along with the Ripon winner Chief Red Cloud, the consistent Honest Broker, and Raleigh Quay, for whom Philip Robinson looks an interesting booking, helps make this a very competitive handicap.
