Verdict
Old Master Expert has something to prove now and a better bet might be VALERIUS MAXIMUS. Paul Cole's colt ran fairly well at York last time out when plugging on at the one pace, suggesting that the drop in trip was against him. Now faced with a more testing finish he can score at the third time of asking. Old Master Expert has been given a break since a bitterly disappointing Leicester run where he travelled well but then emptied quickly. He is back down to five furlongs today and remains capable of much better. Jay Jays Joy and Finnker strike as nursery types, and a more eminent threat today might be the newcomer Hygrove Gal.
