Verdict
A terrific line up for our feature event, with Comic Strip and Humourous two with obvious claims, but we will take a chance with Haunting Memories. A few fingers were burnt when the selection was beaten by Pivotal Flame at Leicester last month, but there was no disgrace in that defeat as the winner went on to finish a close up sixth behind Obe Gold in a valuable sales race at Doncaster. On breeding he would be expected to prefer this longer trip and he looks set to return to winning ways. Comic Strip has done little wrong in his first season and put up another eye-catching performance when easily beating Rocamadour in a conditions event at Epsom. He deserves a crack at listed company and should be the main threat to the selection. Humourous is the Godolphin challenger and comes here on the back of a Kempton victory over Forward Move. The runner- up has since bolted in at Newmarket so the form looks rock solid. Little Miss Gracie and Haatmey also hold strong claims, but Haunting Memories is expected to recoup recent losses.
