In depth

Verdict

Just a handful of these make any serious appeal and it is a race to treat with caution. Hormuz has been in fine form of late and made the most of a good draw at Chester to land a decent handicap a couple of outings ago; breaking the seven furlong course record in the process. However, he failed to see out the trip last time and has it all to do at the weights tonight. Nigrasine stepped back up to this trip successfully last time and gained some just reward for some sterling efforts in his six prior outings this season. But he too has a little to prove at this trip and is not one to rely upon to reproduce this time around. Esher Common made very hard work of landing the odds on his reappearance at Leicester and will face a much stiffer task here. Therefore a chance is taken on Little Amin making a successful reappearance. He fared well in much better company last season and is well breathed in stall 4 if the predicted rain does not get into the ground. Mana Mou Bay also makes some appeal on the pick of his form, but the Dandy Nicholls magic has yet to come to fruition with him as yet.
