Verdict
CUSTODY made a very pleasing return last time after being gelded and can build on the promise of that to break his maiden, with Takaatuf perhaps the main danger. Sir Michael Stoute-trained Custody had the operation after a disappointing debut and his mind was firmly on the job last time at Kempton, when he was doing his best work at the end of a decent maiden. This stiffer track looks sure to elicit further improvement and he looks the one to be on. Takaatuf made good strides from first run to second, and he plugged on well enough on ground that might have been a tad too soft at Sandown last time. He should be better suited by conditions here and can go well for a bang-in-form yard. Rebel Prince is nicely bred to go well at two, but it is a surprise that he is tried over this far first time and he looks best watched. Dalesway is another who has the pedigree to show up well as a juvenile, and the yard's runners are not in bad nick, so he may go well. However, for today we'll take Custody to take the controlling interest.
