Verdict

Trainer Richard Hannon has his juveniles in tremendous form so far this turf season and we will take BAHCELI to have the edge over Mr Optimistic, Jibaal and Little Miss Take. The selection, a £48,000 purchase, is a half-brother to a debut winner over 6f, and to other juvenile scorers. With a 53 per cent strike rate for their yard with their two-year-olds so far this campaign, they could hardly be in much better form and we will side with the colt. Mr Optimistic is another related to juvenile success and comes from a stable that has also begun well, though they are not firing in quite as many winners as was the case a couple of weeks ago. This stiff 5f should suit and he is respected. Jibaal is a half-sister to Rightcar Ellie, who was a winner over this trip at a moderate level when a juvenile. She is probably more likely to be better with a run, but market support would make us wary. Little Miss Take ran well here on debut to be two-lengths second over course and distance. That is definitely one in the plus column to bring to this contest, but Bahceli is likely to be forward enough and we will take him to win at the first time of asking.
