In depth

Verdict

We kick off the evenings racing with a classified stakes race and this looks between Athenian Garden and Kilt Rock with the vote just going to KILT ROCK. Both horses have decent form but the selections just reads a little better in this race. He was beaten favourite on his latest start but was turned over by a very well handicapped horse. That was a cracking run on his reappearance over an inadequate trip and today's step up in distance should suit. Athenian Garden will be no push over though and Henry Cecil's filly ran nicely on her reappearance in a half decent Yarmouth maiden. She looked to be the winner that day but got tired near the line and today's drop in trip will help. The Cecil horse is less exposed than the selection so must be respected but it's always hard for the girls to beat the boys. Kilmanseck finished just in front of Kilt Rock on their last start but we fancy the Mills horse to turn around the form over this trip.
