Gowran bumper winner Homme D'un Soir couldn't quite concede 5lb to Hazran over this trip at Wexford but will have benefited greatly from the experience. Petitbonome didn't have much luck between the flags and looked as though he needed a longer trip when runner-up on his debut in testing conditions at Clonmel. CAPE GENTLEMAN (NAP) will probably need even further in time but this should do for starters. A winner over 1m6f on the Flat in France, he was returning after a year off when runner-up to Mt Leinster over the same trip at Listowel then won the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh in impressive fashion. He looks a very smart recruit to hurdling and gets the vote.
