In depth

Verdict

The four winners at the top of the weights are headed by GLAN, who won with a bit in hand at Kilbeggan though connections wouldn't want the ground too testing. Shoe String pulled her way to the front on her Kilbeggan debut and stayed there but couldn't repeat the performance in a better race at Down Royal. Too Falutin showed major improvement to score by 10 lengths at Ballinrobe while Highstreet Roller was a 66/1 chance when scoring comfortably here last New Year's Eve. There are several newcomers to look out for. Soul Companion is bred for the Flat so should have more pace than most of these while Derek O'Connor's presence on Youwontsnatchmenow is interesting. The four-year-old Fame And Joy has a fine pedigree and could make use of her allowance.
