In depth

Verdict

HEATHER ROCCO was left clear when a rival fell at the last at Limerick but would have won anyway and looks a really nice prospect. He can go in again though Feelgood Island, a winner over 2m1f at Down Royal in December from today's rival Vintage Prosseco, ran very well over a trip too short at Wexford last month. Gelee Blanche has gradually been getting her act together and though she dropped back to 2m to score easily at Tramore she stays this trip and looks a threat. Born Patriot made a successful debut over slightly further here in November and has been performing in strong company while Calthor, a winner between the flags, made all for an easy victory at Ballinrobe and is certain to be suited by the step-up in trip. Breakeven ran very well behind Stand Off at Fairyhouse and a big run from the winner in the opener would be a pointer to his chances.
