Verdict

Both of Weellan’s wins this season have come at Ripon. He’s only been raised 3lb since the latest of those, however, and has form on soft going. Knighted is easily forgiven his run at Chester as he was knocked sideways on leaving the stalls. He was second over 7f on soft ground here last year and is worth a market check. Rhosneigr was a useful juvenile but has raced just the once this year and was well beaten while Kit Marlowe has barely raised a gallop this season. Paparazzi finished ahead of Knighted at Doncaster last month but will probably find at least one too good again. POET’S DAWN is 3lb lower than when just beaten on soft ground at Ripon last September. Rachel Richardson steered him into second place in a ladies’ race at York last week and he is running well enough to go one better here.
