In depth
Verdict
Godolphin have planned their campaign to the letter this time around and have found a good opening for Her Own Kind to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Villarrica and Kindling make the most appeal out of those with previous experience, while Madge is another interesting debutante that is worth keeping tabs on in the betting market. On a mark of 75, Heat Of The Night sets the standard here but does not appear to be anything out of the ordinary and looks harshly assessed on what she has achieved so far. Villarrica ran very green on her debut and did better than her finishing position would suggest. She is sure to be wiser this time around and cannot complete be ruled out. Similar comments apply to Kindling, who should appreciate this extra furlong today. However, he did leave the impression that he has a lot of learning to do on his first start and may be best watched. Therefore, this does look to be a good opening for Her Own Kind, who has an impeccable pedigree and should be up to taking a race like this; even though this will be the absolute minimum trip for him if he runs to type.
