Verdict
Henry Candy has his string in fine order and Caesar Beware, who has carried all before him so far, can continue to pay his way by landing the most valuable prize of his career to date, with Obe Gold, who makes a very quick reappearance after winning at Newmarket on Thursday, and Harvest Warrior fancied to give the selection the most to do. That said there are numerous dangers amongst the rest - with Beaver Patrol, Amazin and Pivotal Flame others to place high on the shortlist for each way players. The last named has improved with each run and, although high in the weights for what he has achieved, he should again run his race. Any cut in the ground should not be a problem for Harvest Warrior, who is a prime candidate for cutting out the early running. However, he may just set things up for Caesar Beware, who is going from strength to strength and may have too much of a finishing kick for the rest to deal with. The fact that Candy considered a crack at the Mill Reef for Caesar Beware is a solid enough indication as to how highly the Wantage-based trainer regards the Daggers Drawn gelding. So the hint is taken as he sends out one of the finds of the season in this highly sought after prize.
