In depth
Verdict
An open start and narrow preference is for Countrywide City ahead of Jethro Bodine and Suruor. The selection comes a fair way for his second start and having shown plenty of potential on his debut behind Prolific at Newmarket, he can land this opener. The step up in trip looks sure to suit this son of Elusive Quality, he can only improve. Bubbly Baby is a newcomer to keep an eye on in the betting, and the stable have another runner in Ten Cents A Dance but he looks one for handicaps later on. Dispol Grand represents a team who have been doing well with their juveniles, but he needs to improve, as do Pedregal and Suruor but that looks likely. Tagula Breeze and Jethro Bodine both improved from first to second runs and further improvement would see them in the mix, whilst Scenic Pass is a filly who needs a check in the betting for the in-form Mick Channon. A toughie, but Countrywide City gets the nod.
