Verdict

Kings Point is well-handicapped if putting it all in however a safer bet may be the unexposed CARACAL who is preferred to Classic Descent and Ting Ting. Mark Johnston's well-bred individual has only had three starts but he has shaped with promise in all three, especially when second to Edinburgh Knight at Lingfield in February on his return to action. Paul D'Arcy's colt is rated 88 after an opening handicap win off 77 so this mark of 73 looks manageable to say this least. With the longer trip in his favour he must go close. Rio Caribe was well-backed at Catterick last time out at but disappointed; having run well here before he is not one to dismiss too readily. Classic Descent's hold-up style of racing leaves him vulnerable to bad luck, Coole Dodger is edging down to a nice mark and needs watching for market confidence, whilst Ting Ting is unexposed and her run here behind Mr Harmoosh looks solid form for the grade. The return to this trip will suit Glenmuir, Ykikamoocow ran well in defeat at Ayr and is only 1lb higher today, whilst Kings Point is not the horse he was but he is now 15lb lower than his last win at Thirsk in 2008. An open handicap then but the tentative nod goes to Caracal.
